Abi Mortimer
Abi Mortimer is Lila Dance’s main Choreographer and Director. She co-founded the Company in 2006 alongside Carrie Whitaker, and since then has received 7 grants from Arts Council England, and undergone 3 tours of both national and international performances. She choreographed the 2009/10 set dance for the GCSE Dance syllabus which she delivered all over the U.K to teachers and students.
Her commissioned work has shown at many high profile venues and events including Sadler’s Wells, The Roundhouse, The Place, U.Dance Finals, Laban, Northern School of Contemporary Dance. Abi regularly delivers professional class across the south of England and in London at Greenwich Dance.

She is a senior lecturer at The University of Chichester and has a passion for extending her practice to creatively engage the community, regularly producing commissions for participants of all ages and abilities.

Joe Garbett
Joe Garbett is an international performer/choreographer and currently teaching across the UK. Based in London Joe enjoys directing work that brings performance art to public and unusual spaces. Joe choreographs work that explores the importance of unity and engages people in the exhilaration that can come from working with others to achieve a common goal.
Since 2014 Joe has been the co-founder of aKa Dance Theatre Company resident company of Tacchi Morris Arts Centre in Taunton. aKa are creating a new work this Autumn which will be touring nationwide Spring 2018. Currently Joe is independently directing an outdoor work 'Doubles'and an online choreographic forum project 'No.Company'.

James Wilton
After graduating in 2009 from LCDS James was commissioned to re-work his second year student choreography Drift for Scottish Dance Theatre for touring throughout 2010-2014. In 2013 the work went on to be staged on Ballett Hagen, Germany, as well as being re-staged on students at The London Contemporary Dance School for performance at The Beijing Academy's 60th Celebreation Gala 2014.

In 2010 James created his first professional work The Shortest Day. Following this the work was toured both nationally and internationally. In 2010 The Shortest Day won the Sadler's Wells “Global Dance Contest” as well as in 2011 The Shortest Day won the “Audience award for best choreography” at the 16 Masdanza choreography competition, as well as winning 3rd prize at the Hannover International choreography competition (2012).
